AIA Austin’s “Latinos in Architecture” is proud to announce “PERSPECTIVAS dosmil11”. This exhibit aims to showcase the work and talent of Austin Latino architectural professionals and designers during the 2011 celebrations of National Hispanic Heritage Month. The exhibit will take place at the Emma S. Barrientos Mexican American Cultural Center (MACC). Opening night is scheduled for Friday October 7th (5:30-7:00PM) with opening remarks by Juan Cotera, [...] Tertulia has been a work in progress for 10 yrs now. Its humble beginnings can be traced to a Design Studio course back in Spring of 2000. This post summarizes the highlights of that process.

Casa Marco is a small residence specifically designed to meet Dalla’s Urban Reserve’s lot #25. Urban Reserve is a developer’s project that seeks to integrate High-end design with sound environmental practice. Driving concepts behind the house derive from ideas about FRAMING the landscape, TYING the house to the site and its surroundings, and FUSING both the urban and suburban conditions that characterize it.
